RETAILERS

Retailers or more specifically mass-market retailers is a company that affordably sells large quantities of goods that appeal to a wide variety of consumers and meets consumer wants and needs at reasonable prices. Examples of mass-market retailers include but are not limited to big-box supermarkets, hypermarkets or stores like Aeon, Lotus’s, 99 Speedmart, Jaya Grocer, The Giant, Departmental stores, Econsave or even convenience stores such as 7 Eleven, Family Mart, and so on.

The retail industry and its key stakeholders, including brick-and-mortar and online retailers along with manufacturers, suppliers, and wholesalers, have an important role in contributing to the solution for plastic pollution. Retailers themselves are key to mainstreaming reuse, as they are the most important interaction point with brands and with the public and have the ability to both drive supply chain changes and shift consumer behavior.
